The second model from Xpeng's value Mona sub-brand is a coupe-styled crossover sitting above the M03 liftback. It offers a battery-electric version with up to 650 km of range (preliminary) and a range-extender, both front-wheel drive with a 249 hp motor. Chinese prices are expected near 150,000 yuan (about $22,000).

The Commerce Department has denied Polestar authorization to sell its 2027 and later model-year cars in the United States, citing the Connected Vehicle Rule and Geely's controlling stake. The ban even covers the Polestar 3, which is built in South Carolina. Existing dealer stock can still be sold.

Geely has revealed the production Galaxy Cruiser 700, the first off-road SUV from its Galaxy sub-brand. The body-on-frame PHEV makes a combined 1,113 hp from a 2.0-litre turbo and three electric motors, with 350 km of CLTC electric range. China sales start by the end of 2026.

Li Auto has launched the second-generation L8 in China. It shares the flagship L9's 800V architecture and 571 hp EREV powertrain but is built strictly as a five-seater. A 72.7 kWh battery gives 430 km electric and 1,670 km combined on CLTC; 0-100 km/h takes 4.8 s. Prices run from ¥369,800 to ¥429,800.

Škoda has fully revealed the Peaq, its largest model and electric flagship. Built on VW's MEB platform, it offers three variants from 204 to 300 hp and up to 647 km WLTP. From €49,900 (~$54,000) in Germany.

Renault's updated Megane E-Tech Electric switches to a 67 kWh LFP battery for up to 500 km WLTP and faster 165 kW charging, behind a redesigned front end. From about €37,000 (~$40,000) in France.

Chevrolet has revealed the fifth-generation Silverado, a seven-trim lineup topped by the off-road ZR2 and luxury High Country. Engines carry over the 3.0L Duramax diesel and 2.7L TurboMax four, plus new 5.7 and 6.6-litre V8s. US sales start by the end of 2026; prices come later.

Geely has shown its new Galaxy TT in official photos - a sporty C-segment electric sedan on the GEA platform with an 800V architecture and a CATL battery. Maserati facelifted the Grecale crossover alongside the GranTurismo and GranCabrio. Bovensiepen Automobile, founded by the Bovensiepen brothers after Alpina passed to BMW control, has revealed its second model. Apple is broadening CarPlay in iOS 27, turning it from a navigation-and-music tool into a fuller in-car media platform. New features include video apps via AirPlay while parked, a redesigned Siri interface, a music mini-player, audio scrubbing in Now Playing, and a Liquid Glass visual refresh. It is in beta now, with a public release this autumn.

BMW opened order books for the electric i3 50 xDrive months ahead of schedule after demand outran plans. The First Edition starts at 75,340 euros (about $86,400) in Germany, with up to 912 km WLTP range. Days earlier, BMW was reported to be discontinuing three China-built EVs in July to clear capacity for the Neue Klasse.

BMW Group revised its 2026 guidance, cutting automotive margin from 4-6% to 1-3% after January-May deliveries in China fell 14.9% and the Middle East conflict pushed up costs. Shares dropped 7% to a five-year low.
