Overview

iCAUR V27 positioning and size

The iCAUR V27 is the largest SUV in Chery’s iCAUR lineup and its first range-extender. It is a five-seat, boxy SUV with round headlights, a rear-mounted spare wheel and 265/45 R21 all-terrain tyres on the AWD trims. It measures 4,909 mm long (5,055 mm counting the spare wheel), 1,976 mm wide and 1,894 mm tall, on a 2,910 mm wheelbase. It went on sale in China in March 2026, and the brand sells it abroad as iCAUR.

Battery, range and charging

The V27 uses a range-extender layout: a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine charges the battery and never drives the wheels directly. The original trims carry a 34.3 kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, good for 210 km of CLTC electric range in rear-wheel drive and 200 km with all-wheel drive. The Long Range versions, launched on 30 September 2026, raise the battery to 51.2 kWh and the electric range to 300 km CLTC. CLTC is China’s test cycle and reads more generously than WLTP, so real-world figures will be lower.

Chery says the 51.2 kWh pack of the Long Range versions charges from 30% to 80% in 17 minutes, according to CarNewsChina.

Power and drivetrain

The rear-drive version has a single 185 kW motor (about 248 hp). The all-wheel-drive versions add a front motor for a combined 335 kW (about 449 hp), and the original AWD trims reach 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds.

Romania and Europe

iCAUR opened the V27 for orders in two European markets in October 2026, both with the smaller battery of the original China trims (prices as of 20 October 2026).

In Romania the 34.31 kWh car comes in two versions: the rear-drive Classic at €51,490 and the all-wheel-drive Premium at €54,999. Their electric range is 135 and 130 km on the WLTC cycle, against 200 to 210 km CLTC for the same pack in China. Sales start in the first part of 2027.

In Greece the V27 made its EU premiere at Auto Athina 2026 and became available to order there, from €54,900 for the all-wheel-drive car. CarNewsChina quotes 335 kW (449 hp), 505 Nm, 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and up to 145 km of WLTP electric range from the 34.3 kWh battery. With the 60-litre fuel tank it quotes up to 900 km in range-extender mode on the WLTP cycle. No on-sale date was given. The brand has said it will launch in the UK in 2027.

Trims and prices in China

The original range is priced at 169,800 yuan (~$25,200) for the Falcon 500 rear-drive, 182,800 yuan (~$27,200) for the Falcon 500 all-wheel-drive and 196,800 yuan (~$29,200) for the Falcon 700. The two Long Range versions, both all-wheel drive, cost 189,800 yuan (~$28,200) and 203,800 yuan (~$30,300). Prices are as of 30 September 2026. Falcon 500 and Falcon 700 differ in driver assistance: the 700 adds roof lidar and a more powerful Horizon Journey 6P chip.

What is CLTC?

CLTC is the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle, the range figure carmakers must quote in China. Its low average speed makes it the most optimistic of the major cycles.

What is WLTC?

WLTC is the test cycle inside the WLTP procedure, cited on its own by Japanese and some Chinese sources. Figures are broadly comparable with WLTP.

What is WLTP?

WLTP is the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure, the homologation standard for Europe and much of Asia. Across 11 cars rated on both with the same battery, WLTP read about 20% lower than CLTC for the median car.

Yes. iCar is the brand's name in China; outside China it is sold as iCAUR because Apple holds the iCar trademark. The V27 is the same car under both names.
Is the iCAUR V27 a plug-in hybrid or an electric car?
Neither in the usual sense. It is a range-extender (EREV): a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine only charges the battery, and the wheels are always driven by electric motors. The car can be plugged in and driven on battery alone for 200 to 300 km on the CLTC cycle, depending on battery size.

In Greece the all-wheel-drive V27 was announced at Auto Athina 2026 from 54,900 euros. In Romania the rear-drive Classic starts at 51,490 euros and the all-wheel-drive Premium at 54,999 euros. Both European versions use the 34.3 kWh battery and are rated at 130 to 145 km of electric range on the WLTP or WLTC cycle.
What is the difference between the standard and Long Range iCAUR V27?
The battery. The original trims carry a 34.3 kWh pack for 200 to 210 km of CLTC electric range; the Long Range versions, launched on 30 September 2026, carry a 51.2 kWh pack for 300 km. Both Long Range versions are all-wheel drive with 335 kW of motor power.
What is the difference between Falcon 500 and Falcon 700 on the iCAUR V27?
It is the driver-assistance hardware. Falcon 500 uses millimetre-wave radar and vision sensors; Falcon 700 adds a roof-mounted lidar and a Horizon Robotics Journey 6P chip with 560 TOPS for urban and highway pilot navigation.
