iCAUR V25 platform and positioning
The iCAUR V25 is a boxy, off-road-styled mid-size SUV from Chery’s iCAUR brand, sold in China under the brand’s domestic name, iCar. It slots between the smaller V23 and the larger V27 in the lineup, measuring 4,636 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,855 mm tall on a 2,820 mm wheelbase, with 197 mm of ground clearance and seating for five.
iCAUR V25 powertrain
The V25 uses a range-extender (EREV) powertrain: a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, rated at 115 kW (154 hp), acts only as a generator for a lithium-iron-phosphate battery, which then drives the electric motors. The export car’s battery is 33.68 kWh, good for 150 km of WLTC electric-only range on the rear-drive version and 145 km on the all-wheel-drive one, with WLTC fuel consumption of 1.52 to 1.54 L/100 km. The China car is rated on the CLTC cycle instead: 210 km of electric range and 1,240 km combined on the rear-drive version, 200 km and 1,210 km on the all-wheel-drive one. The rear-drive motor makes 185 kW (248 hp) and the all-wheel-drive car’s two motors 335 kW combined. 0-100 km/h takes 8.5 seconds for the rear-drive car and 5.8 seconds for the all-wheel-drive one, and charging from 30 to 80% takes 15 minutes. The China battery capacity has not been published. CLTC and WLTC figures come from different test procedures and are not interchangeable. Top speed is 180 km/h, and an optional towing package raises capacity to 1,800 kg.
Inside the iCAUR V25
Design leans into a squared-off, retro-off-road look, with round headlights set into a boxy grille, exposed door hinges and full-width taillights. A roof-mounted LiDAR unit is available for driver-assistance features, in the Falcon 700+ system, which runs on Horizon Robotics’s Journey 6P chip with 560 TOPS and supports urban and highway navigation assistance. The cabin has a 15.4-inch central touchscreen and keeps physical buttons, and the front seatbacks recline flat. Chery has not yet released interior photos.
iCAUR V25 price and trims
China pre-sales opened on 19 October 2026 with four versions. The rear-drive Pro costs 139,800 yuan (~$20,800) and the rear-drive Max 149,800 yuan (~$22,300); the all-wheel-drive Max+ costs 163,800 yuan (~$24,300) and the Ultra 175,800 yuan (~$26,100). Pre-sale buyers pay a 1,000 yuan (~$100) reservation that counts toward 3,000 yuan (~$400) of the final price. These are pre-sale prices rather than a launch list: the V25 was revealed in China on 14 August 2026 and iCar expects an official launch in the fourth quarter.
iCAUR has signalled export plans for markets including Malaysia, the Middle East and Australia, where the V25 had a public showing at Everything Electric Sydney on 18-20 September 2026 ahead of commercial sales targeted for early 2027. No export prices have been announced.
