The VinFast VF 6 is a subcompact electric crossover SUV positioned between the smaller VF 5 and the mid-size VF 7 in the brand’s lineup. Designed with Pininfarina and Torino Design and built on VinFast’s VMG-A/B platform, the VF 6 has been in production since 2024 at VinFast’s Hai Phong plant in Vietnam, with a second assembly line in Thoothukudi, India supplying the car to South Asian and export markets.
Both trims share the same 59.6 kWh LFP battery but are tuned differently. The Eco uses a 174 hp front motor for a WLTP range of up to 410 km and a 10.3-second 0-100 km/h time. The Plus steps up to a 201 hp motor, cutting the sprint to 8.9 seconds and raising top speed to 175 km/h, though its WLTP range drops to 379 km as the more powerful setup draws more energy from the same pack. DC fast charging on the Plus tops out at 100 kW, enough for a 10 to 80 percent top-up in about 29 minutes.
Inside, the VF 6 carries a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, an available head-up display, ventilated front seats, and a Level 2 driver-assistance suite with a 360-degree camera. At 4,238 mm long, 1,820 mm wide, and 1,594 mm tall, it competes in the same footprint as compact crossovers from established rivals.
The VF 6 has been on sale in Vietnam since 2024 and expanded to Europe in March 2025, with German pricing starting from €34,990 for the Eco and €38,990 for the Plus. It is also sold in the United States, where the Plus trim carries an EPA-rated range of up to 286 miles, and in India through the Thoothukudi-built line.
