Overview

The Nissan Tekton is a compact crossover built for India and other emerging markets, sharing its platform with the India-market Renault Duster. It is produced at the Renault-Nissan plant in Chennai and takes over from the Nissan Terrano, the brand’s previous Duster-based SUV for the region.

Two turbocharged petrol engines are offered. The 1.0-litre unit makes 100 hp and 166 Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual and front-wheel drive. The larger 1.3-litre turbo produces 163 hp and 280 Nm, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic, also front-wheel drive only.

Styling draws on the Nissan Patrol, visible in the headlight and taillight graphics and a wide, upright front end. Base trims come with LED lighting, air conditioning, power windows, and an Arkamys audio system. Higher trims add adaptive cruise control, dual-zone climate control, matrix LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, and Arkamys Auditorium 3D sound.

Pricing in India runs from ₹1,049,000 (about $11,000) to ₹1,859,000 (about $19,490), spanning the base 1.0-litre trim through the fully equipped 1.3-litre range.
