The Ford Puma Gen-E is the battery-electric variant of the Puma subcompact crossover, sharing its body, interior, and 4,214 mm footprint with the petrol version while replacing the EcoBoost engine with an electric powertrain. It occupies the same B-segment crossover space as the regular Puma but competes directly with electric rivals like the Vauxhall/Opel Mokka Electric.
A single front-mounted motor produces 168 hp and 290 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels and reaching 100 km/h in 8.0 seconds. The 43 kWh battery gives up to 375 km of WLTP range, and Ford has said a larger-capacity pack is planned to extend that further. DC fast charging tops out at 100 kW, enough for a 10 to 80 percent top-up in around 23 minutes.
Because the Gen-E keeps the Puma’s conventional hatchback-style boot rather than a dedicated EV floor, it retains the Megabox underfloor storage compartment beneath the load area, plus a small front trunk for charging cables. Trim levels are Select and Premium, both running Ford’s SYNC 4 infotainment on a 12.8-inch touchscreen.
Pricing starts from around €33,990 before any local EV incentives. As a Romania-built EV, the Puma Gen-E qualifies for reduced or waived ecological bonuses in several EU markets, positioning it as one of the more accessible electric crossovers in Ford’s European lineup.
