Overview

The third-generation Audi Q7 keeps the model’s role as the brand’s traditional flagship SUV - a seven-seat, combustion-engined alternative to the all-electric Q-series cars. It is built on an updated version of the MLB Evo platform at Audi’s plant in Bratislava, Slovakia. Pre-orders open in June, with deliveries from September.

Powertrains. In Europe, the Q7 launches with a 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, offered at 245 or 299 hp, driving through an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic and quattro all-wheel drive. The United States takes a different route: a 2.9-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 with 435 hp, which Audi quotes at 0-96.6 km/h (60 mph) in 4.8 seconds. A high-performance SQ7 with a 600 hp V8 is sold alongside it in the US.

Design. The new Q7 adopts a split-level headlight arrangement, a large grille without chrome framing, and T-shaped tail lights joined by a full-width bar. The indicators project onto the road surface. Wheels range from 20 to 23 inches.

Interior. Buyers can choose five, six or seven seats. The dashboard carries three displays - instrument cluster, central multimedia and a dedicated front-passenger screen. A panoramic roof with switchable opacity, plus ventilation and massage for the front seats, are available.

Pricing. German prices start at €87,900. Pricing for the SQ7 and the US-market versions will follow.
