Chery’s Jaecoo and Omoda sub-brands will have locally assembled cars in Kazakhstan from Q3 2026. The plant is AMMKZ in Almaty. Astana Motors has already replaced Aster as the official distributor for both brands.
Jaecoo (launching first):
- J5: FWD, 1.5T + CVT — first on the production line
- J7 PHEV: 1.5T + 204 hp front electric motor — to follow
Omoda (production start date not announced):
- C5: 4,400 mm, 2,630 mm wheelbase · 1.5L atmo or 1.5T + CVT · from 10.5–12.5M tenge (~$22,000–$26,000)
- C7: 4,660 mm, 2,720 mm wheelbase · 1.6T + 7-speed DCT · from 11–13M tenge (~$23,000–$27,000)
